Bomb Threat Forces Greek Theatre Evacuation
The bogus bomb threat is the latest in a series of unsettling incidents and evacuations in Griffith Park over the last week.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A bomb threat forced the evacuation of about 1,400 people from the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles's Griffith Park Sunday, but the threat turned out to be bogus.
It's the latest incident in a series of unsettling incidents at the famed park, which saw three evacuations in less than a week.
According to authorities, someone called the theatre about 6:15 p.m. and said a person inside a YouTube event had a device, Sgt. F. Serrano of the Los Angeles Police Department's Northeast Station said.

All attendees were ordered out of the building at 2700 North Vermont Ave., and the LAPD swept it with bomb-sniffing dogs, Serrano said. No device was found, he said. But the venue remained closed for the night.
Police were investigating the source of the call, Serrano said.
The false alarm came a day after a suspicious packaged forced the evacuation of thousands from the Griffith Observatory. The package turned out not to be dangerous. That incident came a few days after the observatory was forced to close because of a 25-acre wildfire in Griffith Park.
