Community Beadwork Drop-in Workshop
A Program of the Floral Journey: Native North American Beadwork Exhibition

Inspired by the pieces in Floral Journey, Tiffany Jackson (Cocopah/Rosebud Sioux/Quechan/Paiute/Laguna Pueblo) will demonstrate and teach basic beading techniques. Participants will contribute to a community beadwork project that will be displayed in the museum and added to the Autry’s Education Collection.

In this program, Jackson takes on the roles of artist, demonstrator, and educator. As an artist, she chose the materials and created the design, inspired by the floral images found in the exhibition. As demonstrator, she illustrates the beading process for visitors, sharing the traditions and skills learned from previous generations. As educator, she teaches visitors introductory beading techniques while guiding and directing the formation of each piece.
