Fuel Spill Shuts Down Southbound 5 Freeway
About 150 gallons of diesel fuel spilled onto the freeway has triggered a SigAlert.

About 150 gallons of diesel fuel spilled from a big rig tonight, forcing the closure of all southbound lanes of the Golden State (5) Freeway in Newhall.
The spilled fuel was reported at 8:41 p.m. at Calgrove Boulevard, California Highway Patrol Officer Anthony Polizzi said.
A SigAlert was issued at 9:03 p.m., he said.

Traffic was being diverted at Lyons Avenue, according to the CHP.
A Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatch supervisor said the leak was stopped after about 150 gallons had spilled and crews were at the scene cleaning up the mess.
