Landmark St. Charles Borromeo Church Vandalized

Someone broke into North Hollywood's St. Charles Borromeo Church, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — A vandal broke into a landmark North Hollywood Roman Catholic church overnight, causing thousands of dollars in damage, authorities said Wednesday.

Someone broke into St. Charles Borromeo Church at Lankershim Boulevard and Moorpark Street, shattering a window and vandalizing the interior. The damage was discovered about 4:45 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department reported. Police also reported nearby trash fires but not said if those acts or arson are connected to the church vandalism.

Investigators are seeking the suspect or suspects, who caused "extensive" damage to the interior of the church, the LAPD reported.
