Las Posadas Traditional Procession at the Andres Pico Adobe

We will be celebrating our annual Las Posadas event on Saturday, December 6th at 5:30 pm, at the Andres Pico Adobe. These celebrations are over 400 years old, having their beginnings in Mexico. The word “Posada” is Spanish for “lodging” or “inn”. The name of the celebration is pluralized due to the fact that in many places, this event takes place over a nine day period.

Our celebration will include the traditional procession, led by and angel, following Mary and Joseph as they look for lodging. We are also having a piñata, traditional Mexican sweetbreads, and a visit by Santa to round out the evening. This free event is open to the public.

The refreshments are also free. (Donations are gratefully accepted). The Andres Pico Adobe is located at 10940 Sepulveda Blvd. in Mission Hills.

The gates will open at 5 pm, so feel free to show up early to get your spot in the procession! In case of rain/bad weather, the alternate date will be Saturday, December 13th at 5:30 pm.
