North Hollywood High Falls Short at National Science Bowl
Despite a few wins at the tournament, the local campus is knocked out by another Southland school.

A team from North Hollywood High School won matches against schools from New Jersey and Texas over the weekend, but students lost two other matches and were eliminated from competition in the Department of Energy (DOE) National Science Bowl.
They lost a match against a school from Virginia and were eliminated from competition by losing a match to University High School of Irvine, the JPL Regional Champion Team.
North Hollywood High School, champion of the LADWP Regional Science Bowl, representing the Los Angeles Unified School District and the City of Los Angeles, won all eight matches in Round Robin competition earlier today.

Two teams remain in contention, representing Mira Loma High School from Sacramento and North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (HS) from Durham, NC.
The first place high school team in the academic competition will win a nine-day, all-expenses-paid science trip to Alaska, while the second place team will win a five-day, fully guided adventure tour of the Great Salt Lake Prk, Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park.
