Pursued by Police, Stolen Car Overturns

A man and woman were hospitalized with minor injuries.

A man and woman were transported to hospitals for treatment of minor injuries after their stolen car overturned in a brief police pursuit in North Hollywood, a police sergeant said.

The pursuit began at about 10 p.m. Sunday at Cumpston Street and Burbank Boulevard when officers stopped their patrol car behind the suspects’ car, checked the license plate and determined it was stolen, Sgt. Season Nunez of the Los Angeles Police Department’s North Hollywood Station said.

The suspects noticed the police car and took off, Nunez said. Within a minute, they failed to make a turn on Sherman Way and Clybourn Avenue next to Bob Hope Airport and the stolen vehicle rolled over, she said.
