Son charged with Assaulting 60-Year-Old Mom

From a Los Angeles District Attorney’s press release:

A North Hollywood man has been charged with assaulting his 60-year-old mother, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Gerry Peter Loy (dob 3/1/90) is charged with one felony count of assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury.

Arraignment for case LA078626 is scheduled today in Department 100 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Van Nuys Branch.

On July 27, the elderly victim was allegedly knocked unconscious by Loy, her son. Loy is currently on formal probation after pleading no contest to elder abuse on May 19 in case LA073719. The victim in that case was 79 years old.

If convicted in the current case and found in violation of probation, the defendant faces a maximum sentence of eight years in state prison.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, North Hollywood Division.
