Stolen BMW Chase Heads from Hollywood to Malibu
A single suspect led police on a high speed chase for more 3 hours throughout Los Angeles.

A nearly three-hour chase of a stolen BMW tonight that began in North Hollywood ended on Pacific Coast Highway north of Malibu when the suspect stopped and surrendered.
The chase began at 6:45 p.m at Whitsett Avenue and Valleyheart Drive, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Nuria Venegas.
The chase ended when officers were about to try a pit maneuver and the BMW came to a stop near the Ventura County line.

The suspect, who was taken into custody about 9:30 p.m., drove from North Hollywood into Burbank and then over the hill to Hollywood and the Mid- City area before getting on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway and heading to Pacific Coast Highway.
Along the way he drove at nearly 70 mph on side streets and briefly on the sidewalk on Highland Avenue at another point. Sometimes he drove slowly.

The driver appeared to be a bit drunk when he emerged from the car and was taken into custody.
