Valley Homeowner Sends Home-Invasion Burglars Scrambling

Though it was masked intruders who awoke a sleeping couple in the San Fernando Valley, it was the burglars who got the real surprise.

TARZANA, CA — A sleeping couple in Tarzana was surprised by a pair of burglars breaking into their home overnight, but it was the burglars who ended up fleeing in terror. Armed with a shotgun, the homeowner confronted two would-be burglars in his kitchen Tuesday night, Fox11 Los Angeles reported.

The shotgun-toting resident ordered the burglars to leave, and they complied, jumping over a fence and landing in the bushes, Fox11 reported.

The breaking occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 18800 block of Wells Drive, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Matthew Cruz confirmed.
