Watch: Good Samaritans Save Residents From NoHo Inferno

A raging fire engulfed a North Hollywood apartment, forcing families to flee for their lives.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — Neighbors worked to help one another escape a raging apartment fire in North Hollywood Wednesday morning that left two people hospitalized with injuries. A man suffered burn injuries and a woman was hospitalized with smoke inhalation in the two-story apartment fire at 7423 N. Lankershim Blvd.

The fire broke out just after 1 a.m. and quickly engulfed the building. The blaze started in a property nearby, the site of a previous fire believed to have been caused by homeless activity, according to CBS Los Angeles.

“The building was engulfed in flames by the time we got here, and there was a guy walking down the street just happened to see it, so he was helping us get everybody out,” resident Brooke Boyd told CBS.
