Let the debate begin! The novel True Grit was originally adapted for the big screen in 1969. The movie starred John Wayne, who won his only Academy Award for the performance. Over forty year later, in 2010, Jeff Bridges was cast in the lead role. Both films were popular with audiences, and people continue to argue over which portrayal and film is the best. Decide for yourself!

Fourteen-year-old Mattie Ross (Darby) seeks vengeance for her father’s killer, so she hires United States Marshal Rooster Cogburn (Wayne) to track him down. Cogburn prefers to work alone, but he is reluctantly accompanied by Ross and a Texas Ranger (Campbell) with his own agenda.
