7-Acre Brush Fire Burns In Santa Clarita

SANTA CLARITA, CA — Forward progress has been stopped on a seven-acre brush fire that is burning in Stevenson Ranch, near Intersate 5.

Los Angeles County Fire Department firefighters received reports of a 1-acre brush fire at around 1:05 p.m. at Calgrove Boulevard and the Old Road in Santa Clarita, a department spokesperson told the Santa Clarita Valley Signal. A second alarm was called out at 1:30, and aircraft was sent to the scene.

The fire, which is referred to as the Calgrove Fire, has spread to seven acres. As of 2 p.m., the L.A. County Fire tweeted that forward progress of the fire has been stopped, and a two-hour cleanup process is beginning.

As of 1:15 p.m., the department reported that there have been no injuries or structure damage.
