Brush Fire Briefly Closes 405-101 Freeway Transition Road In San Fernando Valley

A vegetation fire burned near the 405-101 freeway interchange Thursday afternoon.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A vegetation fire that broke out near a freeway connector in Encino Thursday afternoon was knocked down in about an hour, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire was reported before 2 p.m. near the connector from the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway to the northbound Ventura (101) Freeway, according to the fire department.

Firefighters had knocked down the blaze within an hour, the department said.

Aerial footage aired by Fox 11 showed brush burning near the interchange as fire crews worked along the roadway. One transition road appeared to be closed while firefighters battled the flames, according to the station.

The footage showed little wind at the scene, while Fox 11 reported high humidity in the area.
