Brush Fire Triggers 118/405 Freeway Closure

A brush fire off the transition from the westbound Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway to the San Diego (405) Freeway briefly closed the transition.

MISSION HILLS, CA — Firefighters quickly tacked a brush fire that prompted closure of the transition road from the westbound Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway to the San Diego (405) Freeway in Mission Hills Tuesday.

The Los Angeles Fire Department was notified of the blaze at 1:10 p.m. and sent two engines to the scene just east of the Sepulveda Boulevard exit on the westbound side of the 118 Freeway, according to Brian Humphrey of the LAFD.

The fire was contained to less than a quarter of an acre, Humphrey said. There was no damage to structures and no one was injured, he said.
