Chatsworth Man Accused Of Cyberstalking Two Sisters
Alex Scott Roberts of Chatsworth was indicted Friday by a grand jury for allegedly sending gruesome and threatening text messages.

CHATSWORTH, CA — A Chatsworth man was indicted by a federal grand jury Friday for charges of cyberstalking two sisters by sending them threatening text messages.
Alex Scott Roberts, 25, was named in a six-count indictment that outlines alleged an alleged harassment and threat campaign over three weeks in July and August. The indictment charges Roberts with two counts of stalking and four counts of making threats by interstate communications, specifically text messages.

If convicted, Roberts would face up to five years in federal prison for each indictment count, which would total 30 years.
The indictment alleges that Roberts used text messages and internet communications to to place the two victims "in reasonable fear of death and serious bodily injury" and that he intended to cause "substantial emotional distress."

According to the indictment, Roberts allegedly created a listing on Craigslist offering a room for rent at the home of one of his victims, and invited prospective rents to "stop by anytime."
On Aug. 2, Roberts allegedly sent anonymous text messages to a friend of the first victim demanding her phone number, threatening to publish nude photographs of the woman, and threatening to send someone to rape the first victim, court papers allege.
The indictment also alleges that between Aug. 11-18, Roberts sent numerous anonymous threatening text messages to the sisters, which included texts like, "I'm outside...I see you guys...payback is a b--tch and she gets what she deserves hope you all survive there will be blood."
Later messages included threats like, "have either of u been raped I guess you will have that experience soon," and "I have a guin aimed right at both your mom and dad ... If u don't respond someone will die," according to the indictment.
Information about Roberts' alleged motive or relationship to the victims was not included in the indictment.
Roberts is currently in state custody serving a sentence resulting from a parole violation. He is expected to finish the sentence later this month, at which point FBI agents expect to take hiim into federal custody, according to federal prosecutors.
