A single-story fire filled a Porter Ranch home up with smoke, injuring a man and a woman.

PORTER RANCH, CA — Two people were hospitalized after suffering from smoke inhalation during a house fire in Porter Ranch Tuesday evening.

The blaze broke out at a home 10900 block of Key West Avenue shortly after 5 p.m., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange. Crews arrived to find a garage on fire, the house filled with smoke and an elderly couple in need of aid.

"Firefighters responded to the one-story home fire, where they held the majority of the fire to the attached garage, although smoke filled the home," Prange said. "Two elderly residents — a male and a female — were transported to a local hospital in fair condition due to smoke inhalation.
