Lockdown Lifted After Shooting Outside Chatsworth High School
The gunman was arrested at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
CHATSWORTH, CA — An argument escalated into a shooting outside Chatsworth High School Thursday, prompting a brief lockdown of the school as the suspect was taken into custody.
The incident happened shortly after 9 a.m. in the 9900 block of Lurline Avenue, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer David Cuellar.
"It was two males who were involved in a verbal altercation outside of the school completely unrelated to the school," Cuellar said.

Both men were described as being in their mid-20s.
"The victim was not struck by gunfire," Cuellar added.

Paramedics were called to the scene to treat the victim for injuries. The suspect was arrested at the scene, and his firearm was recovered as well, Cuellar said.
Authorities have not released the identity of the suspect.
The lockdown at Chatsworth High School was quickly lifted.
