Man Who Killed Girlfriend Arrested After Late-Night SFV Manhunt: Police
The man was arrested after killing his girlfriend Wednesday night, according to police.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A man suspected of stabbing his 35-year-old girlfriend to death in the San Fernando Valley was arrested Thursday morning after police launched a manhunt, according to authorities.
Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to 13826 Beaver St., at Dronfield Avenue and near the 210 Freeway in Sylmar, at 9:21 p.m. Wednesday. Witnesses told police the woman was stabbed by a man who ran away from the scene, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The woman was found suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

Video from the scene showed Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics rushing her into an ambulance.
Authorities launched a search for the suspect that continued into the next morning, ABC 7 reported.

Around 5 a.m. Thursday, officers descended on the area of Hubbard and Eighth Street, about four miles from the scene, and set up a perimeter as they searched for the man. It encompassed the grounds of Gridley-Montanez Dual Language Academy.
"Due to ongoing police activity in the area, the students and staff from Gridley-Montanez Dual Language Academy will be relocated temporarily to Maclay Middle School," according to a statement from the Los Angeles Unified School District. "There will be additional staff onsite to assist and support."
School administrators "remain in communication with local authorities for important updates about our local community," according to a statement issued to parents. "We will provide updates as they become available."
By 10 a.m., the suspect was in custody, according to the LAPD.
The fatal stabbing is unrelated to another Valley incident, in which a man stabbed two other people on the street in Sherman Oaks, police said. The suspect in that case remained at large Thursday morning.
