Neighbor Dispute Over Loud Music Turns Into Armed Standoff
A SWAT team and bomb squad were called into a Northridge neighborhood overnight.
NORTHRIDGE, CA — A dispute between neighbors over loud music turned into an armed standoff in Northridge overnight, ending Thursday morning when the resident surrendered to the SWAT team.
The incident occurred in the 17500 block of Raymer Street at about at about 9:30 p.m Wednesday when police were called to respond to a disturbance between neighbors. It started when the suspect allegedly confronted his neighbors about loud music and the vandalism of vehicles while armed with a shotgun, Fox11 reported.
The suspect hole up in his house for hours, and the SWAT team and a bomb squad was called in at about 5:30 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

After daybreak, the man's father, reportedly in his 90s, was brought out of the residence by officers.
The man surrendered shortly after 7 a.m., and no injuries were reported, police said. His name was not immediately available.
