Northridge Man Arrested In Home-Invasion Robbery

Three men were arrested during a traffic stop following a months-long investigation into an armed home invasion robbery in Beverly Hills.

NORTHRIDGE, CA — A Northridge man was among three suspects arrested in connection with a home invasion armed robbery in Beverly Hills, authorities announced Tuesday.

Anthony Chavez Avila Jr., of Northridge, was arrested on suspicion of felony robbery along with Joseph Michael Haberlack, of Sylmar. Sylmar resident Charles Daniel Chiodo also faces a felony robbery charged along with a firearm allegation. The trio was arrested during a traffic stop on Thursday.

The arrests stem from a May 3 burglary at 5:10 a.m. when three suspects entered a home in the 700 block of North Camden Drive and forced residents to surrender their property, according to the Beverly Hills Police Department.

The suspects fled in a vehicle that was parked in a nearby alley, according to investigators.

After reviewing the crime scene and public and private surveillance footage, the BHPD identified five suspects on Thursday and arrested three.

Arrest warrants have been issued for the two remaining suspects.
