Suspect Arrested In Slaying Of San Fernando Valley Woman

Hours after a woman was found stabbed to death Wednesday, Los Angeles Police arrested a man on suspicion of murder.

VAN NUYS, CA — Police arrested a 49-year-old man suspected of fatally stabbing a 53-year-old woman in Van Nuys Wednesday.

Officers were called to the 7300 block of Matilija Avenue at about 8:45 a.m. on reports of the homicide and were directed across the street to 13800 block of Valerio Street, near Woodman Avenue, once they arrived, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police discovered Ana Guardado inside a house suffering from multiple stab wounds, and Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

LAPD detectives investigated the stabbing and arrested Jose Sierra for suspicion of murder, according to a police statement. He was booked into the Van Nuys Community Police Station jail and his bail was set at $2 million.
