Watch: Massive Tree Crashes Down on Northridge Street
A huge tree with a trunk more than five-feet wide came crashing down in Northridge after a week of storms loosened its roots.

NORTHRIDGE, LOS ANGELES -- A Northridge street is blocked, but luckily nobody was injured Thursday when a massive tree came crashing down on top of a car after it was destabilized by a week of storms.
The tree is blocking the 13600 block of Blackhawk Street, according to Eyewitness News, which first reported the story.
Neighbors told the station the ground shook when the giant tree fell. Reaching roughly five-feet in diameter in some places, it will take crews hours to saw it into pieces so that it could be removed.

“This tree made this whole neighborhood,” one neighbor told Eyewitness News. “It shaded the whole area from the really hot afternoon sun. It was such a nice place to hang out.”
