3-Year-Old Kidnapped In Marin County Leading To Man's Arrest: Police

A 39-year-old man faces charges including kidnapping, child abuse and elder abuse, police said.

NOVATO, CA — A man kidnapped a 3-year-old child following a family dispute, Wednesday in Novato.

At around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Novato Police Department officers responded to a call on Martin Drive.

Police said Benjamin Buckley, 39, of Novato took the child and fled the scene in a silver Saturn sedan.

NPD issued a countywide alert and began coordinating a countywide roadblock with law enforcement partners.

A patrolling Novato Police Officer found Buckley and the child exiting a car on Center Road.

The child was found unharmed and was safely reunited with their parents, police said.

Buckley was arrested and faces charges including kidnapping, child abuse and elder abuse, police said.

A Marin County Judge has authorized a bail enhancement, setting bail at $500,000, police said.
