Alleged Drunken RV Driver Crashes Near Novato Fast-Food Restaurant

Police determined the man was "unable to safely operate a motor vehicle due to his level of intoxication."

NOVATO, CA — A 64-year-old man was allegedly driving drunk Sunday when he crashed his RV near a Novato fast-food restaurant.

Novato police, firefighters and paramedics responded at 6:50 p.m. Sunday to Taco Bell at 180 Rowland Blvd., where the man had driven a small RV through the parking lot, over a curb and down an embankment.

According to Novato police Capt. Jamie Knox, the driver of the RV was Pavel Martiska.

"He was assisted out of the vehicle and determined to be unable to safely operate a motor vehicle due to his level of intoxication," Knox told Patch.

Martiska was taken into custody and booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
