Today's riddle: What do you call a belt that is made of watches? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Best of the Bay Editors' Pick 2026: Six Feet Apart Productions (48hills.org) — Novato residents can now catch monthly in-person Story Shuffles at the Courtyard by Marriott, hosted by Six Feet Apart Productions, a Bay Area storytelling group born during lockdown. The organizers also run workshops, online story slams, and the Bay Area Storytelling Festival, creating a welcoming space for both first-time and seasoned storytellers to share their stories close to home.
2. Marin program aims to guide school districts on AI policies (marinij.com) — Novato families should know that Novato Unified is tightening how students use AI, blocking most chat tools for middle schoolers and limiting high school access to Google Gemini under clear guidelines. The district is joining a Marin County Office of Education program that helps schools craft cautious, student-safety-focused AI policies, alongside neighboring districts refining their own rules.
3. Novato woman sentenced for DUI crash that killed mother, aunt near Petaluma (petalumanews.com) — A Novato woman has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for a DUI crash on Highway 101 near Petaluma that killed her mother and aunt earlier this year. Investigators say her blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit, and a prior DUI arrest contributed to prosecutors pursuing serious charges and the judge's final sentence.
4. Sports Briefs: Wallace solid in net as Tam beats San Marin (marinij.com) — Novato sports fans can catch up on a busy slate of local high school action, including San Marin's home water polo loss to Tam and Novato High's flag football shutout against Marin Catholic. The roundup also highlights girls golf at Indian Valley Golf Club, strong showings from Redwood and Archie Williams teams, and open coaching positions at Terra Linda.
