A First Ever in Novato....Firefighters and Novato Youth Center Middle School Youth Team Up for a Chili Cook-off!

An Invitation from the Novato Youth Center & Novato Fire Foundation…….

What do you get when you team up Firefighters and Middle School youth who love to cook?  The first ever Novato Youth Chili Academy! This event is a partnership of the Novato Fire Foundation and the Novato Youth Center, and promises to be a fun competition while raising funds to support youth programming in Novato.

 On Thursday, March 14th from 4:00 to 6:00pm, this event will take place in the Novato Youth Center’s gymnasium, located at 680 Wilson Avenue in Novato.  Admission is free, and there will be raffle tickets for sale on event day, with a long list of great prizes to be won.

Five teams, each with one lead firefighter chef shift and three youth from the Center’s 1-Up-4 College Middle School Program, will be slicing and dicing together in hopes of presenting the winning entry to the Judging Panel.  Judges include: City of Novato Mayor Pat Eklund, PG&E; Sinaloa Middle School Principal Mary Pritchard; Novato Fire President Farhad Mansourian and Novato Youth Center Board of Director Patty Bennett.
