Blue Star Moms of Marin Launch Adopt a Veteran Family Drive

April is Adopt a Veteran Family Month. If you can, please help families of Veterans who have served their country and now face difficulties here at home as they re-entercivilian life.

The Blue Star Moms of Marin, a group of Mothers of children serving, or having served in the military; in their ever constant efforts to support our active military, send care packages to deployed troops, support the families of active military with connection and activities for the Moms, and support Veterans, are once again launching an Adopt a Veteran Family drive for spring.

During the month of April we are collecting donations of store cards such as: Safeway, Target, gas stations, etc to give to Veterans, and their families, who local VA social workers have identified as being in dire need. The items we collect will make a real difference to those Vets in really challenging circumstances.

We are a small but active group driven to do what we do because it’s the right thing to do. Join us in this effort to show that we care about our Veterans. We have not forgotten them and the sacrifices they have already made. At the end of April, the Blue Star Moms will present decorated gift baskets with the gift cards to the social workers who will distribute to the families.

Here is how you can help: Donations to the Adopt a Family program can be in the form of Store cards for groceries, Target, gas cards, etc or in the form of checks made out to the Blue Star Moms of Marin so we can purchase those cards.
