Atria Tamalpais Creek is proud to have nationally ranked tennis star, Dorothy Head Knode as a resident in our senior living community. Dorothy played Wimbledon thirteen times and held semi-finalist medals on two occasions. In the 1950’s, Dorothy consistently ranked in America’s top ten players. She was also a runner-up in the 1955 and 1957 French Championships. Dorothy also claimed victory in the German and US Clay Court Championships. Most recently, Dorothy took the top title in the 80-and-Over Super Seniors World Championships in Turkey in 2008. Dorothy still loves the game and is amazing on the court. She has been hitting balls over at Rollingwood Racquet Club for the past few months. We are very proud to have Dorothy as a member of our community.
