Novato South Little League Opening Day!

Play Ball! Novato South Little League celebrated the start of the 2013 season on a gorgeous Spring weekend this past Saturday, March 9th at Hamann Field! Over 580 players on 52 teams marched onto the recently renovated Hamann Field in celebration of Little League baseball in Novato! Mayor Pat Eklund and fellow City Council members were in attendance. Don Stahl-Ricco and family were honored with tickets on behalf of the Oakland A's for entering and winning the Chevrolet Field of Dreams contest to renovate Hamann Field. Olivia Wreden, one of our Majors Diamondbacks players, sang the National Anthem. The Coast Guard Petaluma Tracen Color Guard presented the colors. First pitch raffle winners recited the Little League pledge to represent their divisions - Gabriel Mandossian (Majors), Gavin Gilkerson (Minors), Kalloon Booher (Rookie), Carter Barranco (TeeBall Senior), and Trevor Krejdovsky (TeeBall Junior). Our 2012 Novato American and Novato South Hamann (good sportsmanship) award winners threw out the ceremonial first pitch - Anthony Okun (NSLL), Matt Lauchenauer (NALL), and Hunter Gray (NALL). And then a hearty "Play Ball!" was heard! Visit NovatoSouthLittleLeague.com for our schedule and come out to root for our players and enjoy a game!
