Research has shown that the level of conflict between separated or divorced parents directly affects children’s development and mental health. Parenting Apart teaches separated or divorced parents skills that help their children manage the challenges and conflicts of a changing family. "The class reassured me that my daughter will emerge from her parents' divorce in two homes with the support and attention she needs to thrive," says Mark Solomons. Parents attend classes separately, although both parents are encouraged to participate at some point.
