“Working Together for Novato” is all about finding the most responsible, effective, balanced, carefully thought-out answers to the most serious challenges facing our town.  Three overarching issues must be addressed to build a safe, vibrant, sustainable Novato.

Fiscal Responsibility and Sustainability

  • Set up funds for long-term needs such as maintenance and reserves
  • Cut over $4 million in annual expenses
  • Eliminated 34 employees
  • Negotiated pension concessions

Facilities and Infrastructure Maintenance and Improvements

  • Restored iconic City Hall as meeting venue
  • Celebrated the opening of the Civic Green and Community Plaza
  • Researched over 20 properties for fiscally-responsible City Office location
  • Determined that Downtown Civic Center is best option for offices
  • Began to develop a plan for parking management downtown

Balanced Land Use and Affordable Housing

  • Opposed the State’s high density housing mandate for Novato
