The Novato Unified School District’s NOVA Independent Study program is for students seeking an alternative to traditional schooling with the goal of following a standards-based course of study.
Located in central Novato at the Hill Education Center, students complete assignments in the home environment and meet weekly with a NOVA teacher who assigns work and helps to ensure success. Studying independently allows students to pursue other interests simultaneously, and also enables students who are in need of a home-based learning environment to graduate from a college prep high school.
