Bay Area-Based Baking Company Gives Back to SF-Marin Food Bank
SF-Marin Food Bank offers food assistance to 30,000 families throughout San Francisco and Marin every week.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – 'Tis the season for baking – and giving back. That’s why Bay Area-based baking company CEO Sarah Jones is doing both this year and asking the community to join her.
As the founder of Miss Jones Baking Co., Jones and her team volunteered Dec. 13 at SF-Marin Food Bank. From the southeast corner of San Francisco to the farthest points in West Marin, SF-Marin Food Bank offers food assistance to 30,000 families every week.
“There are so many people in need,” said Jones, whose team packaged food for distribution at the San Francisco location. The food bank also has a site in Novato.

“It was great to feel like we were doing our small part to give back,” added Jones, who lives in San Francisco.

Based in the Bay Area, Miss Jones Baking Co. launched in August 2015. Today, the company’s products are available in nearly 2,500 stores nationwide.
“We’ve had a tremendous response to our products,” Jones said. “There’s just such a demand for organic and clean food, so retailers have been really receptive to the product.”

Since many people celebrate the holiday season by baking Christmas cookies and other sweet treats, this year Miss Jones Baking Co. launched its Bake-it-Better Challenge. The contest encourages people to “bake-it-better” with the company’s products and share photos of their baked goods online, in an effort to win prizes and give back to SF-Marin Food Bank.
Miss Jones Baking Co. will donate $1 to SF-Marin Food Bank for every treat that someone bakes and posts about on Facebook, Instagram or through the company’s website. Every $1 donated provides three meals, according to the SF-Marin Food Bank website.
“We chose SF-Marin Food Bank for this challenge because hunger is such a huge problem in the Bay Area,” Jones said.
The Bake-it-Better Challenge ends Dec. 23.
