Brush Fire Burns 2 Acres in West Marin County

MARIN COUNTY, CA – Firefighters stayed overnight at the scene of the Drake Fire, monitoring and mopping up after the blaze that broke out Monday afternoon and scorched 2.2 acres along Inverness Road near Limantour Beach in the west part of Marin County, according to authorities.

Crews from Marin County and Inverness fire departments, Cal Fire and the National Park Service responded to the vegetation fire at about 2:30 p.m. One structure was threatened, officials said.

Point Reyes National Seashore had issued a superintendent’s emergency closure order to all public access along the perimeter of the park boundary starting from Sir Francis Drake Blvd at Mount Vision road to the gravel portion of Vision Fire Road, the Marin County fire agency said.
