Burglar Stole Apple Products From Novato Target: Police
Nicholas Whitaker, 32, was booked into the Marin County Jail on suspicion of commercial burglary, resisting a peace officer and grand theft.

NOVATO, CA — A San Francisco man was arrested Monday night following the theft of Apple products from a Target store display case, where a set of vehicle keys was left behind, Novato police said.
Police were notified shortly before 10 p.m. that a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt, blue pants, a backpack, and a blue face mask, was loitering and acting suspiciously in the electronics department of the Target at 200 Vintage Way.
Witnesses then saw him kicking and breaking the glass of an Apple display case. The man grabbed several items and ran out an emergency exit.

Officers found a set of car keys near the case, located the vehicle that went with the keys in the parking lot and waited for the man to return, without success.
Officers on patrol saw a suspicious man several hours later walking near Rowland Boulevard and U.S. Highway 101 on- and off-ramps. The man fled as they approached but was taken into custody near a park and ride lot.

Nicholas Whitaker, 32, was found with property believed to have been taken from the Target store, along with other suspected stolen goods found in his van parked nearby, police said.
Whitaker was booked into the Marin County Jail on suspicion of commercial burglary, resisting a peace officer and grand theft.
