On October 31, 1513, a monk and Catholic priest named Martin Luther nailed 95 Theses on the door of the Castle Church of Wittenberg. This event has been seen historically as an initial catalyst for the Protestant Reformation. This Sunday, at 5 pm, our church will hold a service commemorating the Protestant Reformation. We will consider its legacy and ongoing significance. The Reformation was largely an issue of recovering right doctrine. Sadly, that is something distasteful, or even offensive, to many in our culture today. And yet we are not ashamed to celebrate truth, particularly the truth with regard to the Gospel.
