College Of Marin Trustee Resigns

Trustee Brady Bevis joined the board in 2013.

NOVATO, CA – College of Marin Trustee Brady Bevis has resigned, college officials announced Tuesday.

Bevis joined the board in 2013. During her time on the board, she looked for opportunities to engage and involve the community in her efforts to support education and innovation at College of Marin’s Kentfield and Indian Valley Campuses, according to the college.

"Trustee Bevis was instrumental in deepening relationships with Novato schools and in forging strong partnerships in support of our career technical education programs," Superintendent/President Dr. David Wain Coon said in a statement.

An advocate for the Indian Valley Campus, Bevis helped fuel revitalization planning for the site. Through her outreach and advocacy, the Friends of IVC was reconstituted. The group assisted with the passage of Measure B, which helped bring new facilities to the college, including the Bill and Adele Jonas Center, a new aquatic center and new classroom space for the organic farm and garden program.

"Marin Community College District is very fortunate to have had Brady Bevis since 2013 as trustee," board president Dr. Eva Long said in a statement. "Her significant contributions to our district will be sustained with the goals and work she accomplished."

Bevis announced her resignation at the April 17 board meeting. Board members voted Monday to leave the position vacant until the November 2018 election, which is when her term would have ended.
