Come Meet the Bassets As They Waddle July 4

For the fifteenth year, Golden Gate Basset Rescue (GGBR) will have a parade entry of approximately 100 basset hounds in
 Novato's 4th of July Parade

Don't miss seeing this contingent of rescued dogs, many of which will be sporting patriotic costumes for the occasion or riding in themed wagons.

Following the parade (or what basset lovers call a "'Waddle" ) the public is invited to join the hounds at a picnic on Marion Park Baseball Field.  There will be a hot dog luncheon for sale and raffle tickets available for a donation.  All proceeds will go to help pay vet bills for the rescued hounds.

If you have a basset hound yourself, why not join in.  Registration in advance is only $10, or $15 on the day of the parade.  Basset owners and supporters can also seek sponsorships from your family, friends and colleagues to help with the fundraising effort.

If you want to know more about the breed, or about rescue and adoption from GGBR, stop by and talk to any of the basset owners or GGBR officials on the field after the parade.

You can also connect with GGBR via its website or Facebook page.
