On my Mind
This week is National Public Works Week so it is only fitting to recognize the amazing team we have in the City of Novato who keep our city looking great—it’s a lot more than just filling potholes. Our incredible crew maintains all of our parks and fields, keeps all of the city vehicles running, cleans all city facilities, and builds our bikepaths and sidewalks. Not only that, but they serve with a smile on their face and are always willing to go the extra mile. Our Public Works department has an incredible sense of ownership and pride over their work in the community and it has not gone unnoticed. THANK YOU for all you do day in and day out.

If you happen to spot a member of our crew this week cleaning up medians, parks, or doing some other work in the community, take a few minutes to express your gratitude to them.

Around Town
Bike to Work Day – High-five to everyone who chose to ditch the car and get to work on 2 wheels last week for Bike to Work Day. I saw a handful of bike commuters out there on my ride in and ride home. Picture

School District has a New Superintendent – Congrats to Jim Hogeboom who was recently selected as the new superintendent for the Novato Unified School District, effective July 1st. Looking forward to welcoming Jim and his family back to Novato where he previously served as Assistant Principal at Hill Middle School earlier in his career.
