MSA's award-winning Theatre Department presents Words & Music, featuring songs, scenes, and monologues. Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, and Brian Yorkey.
A one act version of Friedrich Schiller's play Mary Stuart will also be featured, portraying the dramatic final events of the imprisoned Queen of Scots, while her very existence posed a threat, both personal and political, to her Protestant cousin, Elizabeth I. As Elizabeth hesitates over decreeing her rival’s fate, Mary pleads for a face-to-face meeting – but in the swirl of intrigue that surrounds both women, whom can either one trust?
Words & Music performs Friday and Saturday at 7pm Jan. 24–25 at the Performing Arts Center at Novato High School with a matinee on Sunday, Jan. 26 at 2pm.
