Earthquake Jolts North Bay: Did You Feel It?

No injuries have been reported as a result of the quake.

MIDDLETOWN, CA: A magnitude 2.8 earthquake hit near Middletown Thursday afternoon, according to the United States Geological Survey. The temblor was reported around 12:20 p.m. The quake struck about 21 miles from Santa Rosa.

According to the U.S.G.S., it was centered:

  • 12km (7mi) ESE of Middletown, California
  • 14km (9mi) SSE of Hidden Valley Lake, California
  • 14km (9mi) NNW of Angwin, California
  • 15km (9mi) NNE of Calistoga, California
  • 33km (21mi) NE of Santa Rosa, California

No injuries have been reported as a result of the quake.

A 3.4 magnitude quake hit the near Gilroy at 3:41 a.m. Several small quakes shook the San Jose area earlier this week.
