SONOMA COUNTY, CA — An escapee from a Sonoma County jail facility remained on the loose Friday, more than 24 hours after he reportedly walked away from the North County Detention Center in Santa Rosa.

Enrique Rodriguez Faurrieta, 39, of Santa Rosa, was working in the garden area of the facility off Airport Boulevard north of Santa Rosa when he walked off at 1:20 p.m. Thursday, according to a statement from the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.

The North County Detention Center is a low-risk facility, but Faurrieta is still considered an escapee and detectives are searching for him, sheriff's authorities said.
