Lag Ba'Omer, the 18th day of Iyar, and 33rd day of the Omer commemerates the passing of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai. Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, who lived in the second century of the common era, was the first to publicly teach the mystical dimension of the Torah known as the “Kabbalah,” and is the author of the holy Zohar. On the day of his passing, he gathered his students and taught them the deepest and most profound secrets on Jewish mysticism. He instructed his disciples that his passing should not be mourned, rather celebrated for years to come as a happy day.
On this day we celebrate his life and his accomplishment of introducing Kabbalah and mysticism by going to the fields and uniting.
The event will feature a relay races, moon bounce, pony rides, petting zoo, music and BBQ. Nominal fees for the BBQ and rides. Please go to this link to RSVP or call (619) 459-1809.
