In Search of the Miraculous: The Fourth Way Tradition – with Judith Grace Bassat and Michael Golding

His search for the miraculous led Peter Ouspensky to George Gurdjieff, who expounded a new approach to spiritual evolution based upon the “wisdom teachings” of the Sufis, Christians, and Hindus.  Ouspensky translated this into a practical system called “The Fourth Way.  It contains the concept of the Self remembering its divine origin, which has been veiled by inner and outer forces.  Without special and prolonged work on oneself, that divinity remains veiled.

How can we lift the veil?  Is there a way to reach a state of consciousness that remains unaffected by events, time, or even death?  We will explore these ideas through examples drawn from spiritual and artistic traditions, as well as by sharing practical exercises.

Judith Grace Bassat has been a student and director of the Fellowship of Friends, a Fourth Way school, since 1976.  Michael Golding has been a member and director since 1986.  Both are currently active with Fellowship headquarters at the Apollo community in Northern California.  Judith and Michael are both published authors.
