Fatal Novato Hit-and-Run: Driver Pleads Not Guilty

NOVATO, CA – A Novato woman pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges in connection with a fatal hit-and-run collision in October.

Lola Loiseau, 40, pleaded not guilty in Marin County Superior Court to felony hit-and-run causing death and misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter. A preliminary hearing date will be set on Jan. 19, Marin County Assistant District Attorney Barry Borden said.

Loiseau, a nurse's assistant, struck 64-year-old John Krabbe of Novato with her vehicle in the area of Rowland and Redwood boulevards in Novato around 1:15 a.m. on Oct. 25, according to Novato police.

On Oct. 30, a Novato police officer found a vehicle with extensive damage consistent with a pedestrian collision, and Loiseau was identified as the vehicle's owner.

Loiseau was arrested on Oct. 31 and she is being held under $100,000 bail in Marin County Jail.
