Firefighters To Conduct Controlled Burn In West Marin
Fire officials said residents in the areas of rural Novato and Petaluma may see or smell smoke during the controlled burn.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – Marin County Fire Department is conducting a controlled burn Friday in West Marin.
The burn is taking place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Point Reyes-Petaluma Road and Novato Boulevard in Hicks Valley.
Fire officials said residents in the areas of rural Novato and Petaluma may see or smell smoke during the estimated nine-acre controlled burn. Smoke may settle in lower ranch areas of Hicks Valley and Novato, but it should dissipate by the afternoon.

"Please only call 911 if you see visible fire or a building column of smoke," officials said.
