Enjoy the classic pairing of dim sum and tea with recipes from Chef Joyce Jue, an award-winning cookbook author and native of San Francisco’s Chinatown.
This special evening at Fresh Starts Chef Events will be 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, in The Key Room, 1385 N. Hamilton Parkway, Novato, 94949.
Chef Joyce, an acclaimed culinary instructor and leader of culinary tours around Asia, will demonstrate five recipes that can be made at home. Her menu:

Her dishes will be paired with a flight of beverages from The Republic of Tea, premier sponsor of Fresh Starts Chef Events, and close with a housemade dessert. We look forward to an evening of delicious sips and bites!

Tickets cost $60, including dinner; wine will be offered by glass or bottle. All proceeds benefit shelter and job-training programs at Homeward Bound of Marin.
Preceding the event, the ensemble Sonic Forest will offer a free concert from 5 to 6 p.m. in The Key Room, featuring jazz, improvisation and Celtic music with harp, oboe and clarinet.
