Greet the Fall with Chef Sondra Bernstein

Celebrate autumn with a menu from a beloved Sonoma restaurant, the girl & the fig, on Sept. 10 at Fresh Starts Chef Events.

Chef Sondra Bernstein and partner John Toulze of the girl & the fig invite you to greet the fall with a Provençale menu from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at Fresh Starts Chef Events.

Founded in 1997, the girl & the fig opened first in Glen Ellen and now occupies a corner space in downtown Sonoma where the food has been lauded by Bon Appetit and the Michelin Guide. Their menu:

Heirloom Tomato & Watermelon Salad with Feta Cheese & Champagne Vinaigrette | Sauteed Padrón Peppers with Herbed Bread Crumbs | Provençale Petrale Sole with Red Pepper, Fennel & Olives | Black Mission Fig Clafouti

Along with the girl & the fig, the chefs operate the fig cafe & wine bar in Glen Ellen and Suite D, an event and dining space in Sonoma. Other projects include two cookbooks and a line of figfood gourmet products.
