The cities of Novato and San Rafael maintain and operate Hamilton Pool through a mutual services agreement.

Based on the county's guidelines for outdoor swimming pools, city staff determined that reopening the pool would present challenges related to social distancing and maintenance of high-touch surfaces. Staff decided to keep the pool closed to protect the health and safety of the community, as well as due to limited staffing and budget constraints as a result of the pandemic, according to the city.
